Thera graduated from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2011 with her Masters in Occupational Therapy. She began the first leg of her career at Jefferson University Hospital where she worked alongside Rachael on the Spinal Cord Injury Team as well as many other populations in the acute care setting. From there, Thera changed roles and entered the pediatric population while continuing to work per diem as an acute care therapist. Thera’s passion for OT, specifically the neuro population, comes from her experience as being a caregiver for her mother, who suffered a significant traumatic brain injury when Thera was just 9 years old. Thera’s mother lived for 30 years post-injury, and during that time, Thera experienced first-hand the ups and downs her mother and her family faced while trying to navigate life after TBI. Thera has made it her goal to use her experience to help families like hers, who have experienced neurological injury. Thera serves as a guest lecturer at local universities to share her very personal story about TBI and is a certified brain injury specialist.
